Quality Assurance/ R&D Manager - Food Industry (Rochester, NY)

 

Position Summary:

As a Quality Assurance/ R&D Manager, you will be responsible for the QA and R&D team. As a growing company, you will be part of a dynamic group that helps ensure food from all divisions meet food safety and quality standards as per FDA food regulations and customers’ requirements. In this role, you will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales & Marketing departments across various sites to plan, coordinate, and launch new products.  

 

Essential Functions:

 The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the supplier approval program and other programs related to FSVP.
  • Manage Consumer complaints and create resolutions. 
  • Manage, create, update, and maintain various food safety programs.
  • Lead Packaging Sustainability Program
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive product design, development, marketing, and launch process.
  • Coordinate/lead new product implementation and projects meeting.
  • Assist in the development and review of product specifications.
  • Perform physical and organoleptic evaluations of finished products.
  • Participate in projects, initiatives and perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Manage, write, review, and approve Quality/food safety related documents from suppliers.
  • Management of the QA/R&D team – development, performance, time management, etc. 
 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary and related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a QA/QC or R&D role within the food industry 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access. 
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills, and time management skills necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees at various locations.

Quality Assurance Data Entry Specialist - Food Industry (Rochester, NY)

 

Position Summary:

As a Quality Assurance Data Entry Specialist, you will assist the QA and R&D department. In our growing company, you will be part a dynamic group that helps ensure food and ingredients from all divisions follow applicable authorities and that our customers receive all appropriate documents from suppliers. 

 

Essential Functions:

 The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Receiving documents from suppliers and uploading them to various web portals.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to provide required documents
  • Data entry related to tracking samples, and shipping samples.
  • Closely collaborate with the sales team to ensure tracking and shipping for samples.
  • Perform light quality tasks such as weighing products, packing samples.
  • Other ongoing projects in the department as needed.
 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in full time data entry positions.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand how to work on different websites and web portals.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems, web portals, data entry.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access. 
  • Ability to collaborate!

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the cash cycle for accounts receivable.  Primary responsibilities include cash application, invoicing and collections.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of general journal entries, accounts receivable, cash management, collections and reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Timely and accurate generation and submission of sales invoices
  • Receive incoming payments including ACH, wires & checks
  • Manage collections process for Ingredients divisions including regular customer contact, tracking short-paid and past due invoices, and escalating issues to appropriate sales team and management employees
  • Collect references for pending credit applications
  • Generate various internal reports as assigned
  • General office duties, which includes but not limited to filing, sorting mail, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with bookkeeping software is required, NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, andconscientious work habits
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures

Position Summary:

As an Office/HR Assistant you'll be responsible for the support of daily operations within the office. In this role, you are the first point of contact for greeting visitors, vendors, clients and customers. Other responsibilities include answering phones, providing customers with assistance, office maintenance and light cleaning. 

 

Essential Functions:

This role will have responsibility in two primary areas: Office Management and Administrative Tasks.

 Office Management

· Greets customers, clients, visitors and vendors warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience. 

· Answering phone calls/emails and transferring to appropriate contacts in a professional and courteous manner. 

· Maintain order in common areas such as cafeteria, office supply room, bathrooms and conference rooms. 

· Coordinates building maintenance and proactively plans for building/office changes. 

· Ensures a safe working environment for all employees. 

· Escalates and addresses safety issues promptly. 

Administrative Tasks

· Maintain office supply inventory.

· Manage kitchen supplies and inventory.

· Coordinates business lunches by ordering, setting up, and clean up. 

· Maintain inventory documentation, letters and other business-related documents. 

· Prepare shipping labels and order FedEx/UPS pickups and deliveries as needed.

· Assists Human Resources with administrative tasks as needed.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • 3 years of office assistant/management experience (or equivalent customer related experience)
  • Experience managing building maintenance (schedules, coordinating on-site services, etc.)

  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Customer Service orientation

  • Ability to think critically and proactively problem solve 

  • Ability to effectively multitask and handle simultaneous activities

  • Passion for freeze dried fruit and fruit ingredients- a plus!
