Logistics Coordinator- Ingredient Division

Brothers, based on Rochester N.Y., is a highly successful food company with two distinct and complementary divisions: (i) the ingredients division, a value-added importer and distributor of unique and exotic fruit ingredients sold to large food and beverage companies and (ii) the Brothers All-Natural division, the market leader in branded, private-label, and co-branded freeze-dried fruit snacks sold through supermarket, mass, drug, and e-commerce retailers.

Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator supports the Operations Manager by handling both administrative and logistics roles for international & domestic trade. This position requires very strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to multi-task and work seamlessly as a team in a fast-paced environment. It also requires the ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn all aspects and procedures associated with administration & logistics of the Ingredient Division & assist where required.
  • Assist Operations Manager & logistics team of the Ingredient Division with daily activities, such as tracking shipments, filing, maintaining records & keeping them properly organized, handling/creating documents, processing/logging bills for payment & coordinating/carrying out logistical plans for international & domestic orders.
  • Interact and coordinate with the accounting department as needed.
  • Interact with transportation providers to obtain rate quotes, transit times, and to trace shipments.
  • Build & maintain strong working relationships across the supply chain by liaising with suppliers, customers & third-party providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between sales department and Operations Manager of the Ingredient Division to assist with shipment coordination & customer communications.
  • Work with customers on their delivery protocol requirements & review logistics documentation for accuracy.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our clients on the status of their orders & other various requests.
  • Data entry into ERP system & spreadsheets.
  • Other duties & projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • 1-3 years of logistics experience required.
  • Experience in International trade is preferred.
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be efficient with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have strong, customer support orientation, a professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently, and exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
