Sales Manager- Ingredients Division

About Brothers International Food LLC:

Brothers, based on Rochester N.Y., is a highly successful food company with two distinct and complementary divisions: (i) the ingredients division, a value-added importer and distributor of unique and exotic fruit ingredients sold to large food and beverage companies and (ii) the Brothers All-Natural division, the market leader in branded, private-label, and co-branded freeze-dried fruit snacks sold through supermarket, mass, drug, and e-commerce retailers.


Brothers International Food, LLC (“Brothers”), a leading food business, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Ingredients Sales Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of outside sales experience in the food and beverage industry, existing relationships with large national and/or international food & beverage manufacturers, a strong technical background, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will help drive incremental, long-term growth across existing and new customer relationships.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify and aggressively call on existing and prospective customers.
  • Interface with customers’ R&D, Food Safety, Marketing and Purchasing teams and develop personal relationships with key decision makers.
  • Make technical sales presentations that showcase Brothers’ unique capabilities.
  • Develop strategic plans to enter new markets/customers.
  • Generate new product development ideas based on voice of customer feedback.
  • Attend national and regional trade shows.
  • Manage sales representatives.
  • Post-COVID-19 pandemic, some domestic and international travel anticipated.
  • Assist the operations team at Brothers with supplier relations, product development and other customer-driven requirements related to new supplier and customer relationships.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • B.S. degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Food Science, or related discipline
  • 6-10+ years of outside sales experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Specific experience selling commercial ingredients to and relationships with large national and/or international food and beverage manufacturers.
  • Project management, planning, organization, and communications skills
  • Relocation to Brothers is preferred but not mandatory.
