Position Summary

As a category leader in the freeze dried fruits segment, we provide our customers with very convenient and good for you fruit snacks. Our mission is to be the best at what we do by providing the best products and services to our customers. Our growing food company seeks a dynamic team player to help ensure that food products are properly labeled and in compliance with applicable authorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the QA department in reviewing documents from suppliers and customers, maintaining databases for internal information, and writing procedures.
  • Be able to learn the different components of a nutrition facts label to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Keep tract of audit programs, including but not restricted to supplier approval, pest control, internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the investigation and implementation of corrective actives for customer complaints and provide feedback to manufacturing team.
  • Work internally and with 3rd party labs to ensure that all food products stay within agreed upon specifications.
  • Maintain, update, and create specs as needed.
  • Work as a team player with all divisions to ensure the company stays in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Look to improve the department’s performance and find ways to help the company and the other departments be more successful.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food science, regulatory affairs, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to be trained in HACCP, PCQI, and other food safety related programs.
  • Excellent computer skills. Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience in data processing.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures.
